Freddy Cardoza

Dr. Freddy Cardoza is Dean of Grace Theological Seminary and the School of Ministry Studies at Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana.

Dr. Freddy Cardoza is currently Dean of Grace Theological Seminary and serves as the Dean of the School of Ministry at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. He is Professor of Christian Ministry and Leadership and oversees all bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in the School of Ministry Studies, including its residential, online, accelerated, hybrid, and competency-based programs. 

Freddy has taught academically and led in upper administrative roles for over 25 years. In addition to his role as Dean, Freddy currently teaches as a Visiting Professor in the Ph.D. program at Gateway Seminary (Los Angeles). Prior to being at Grace, he served for a decade at Biola University (Los Angeles) in the Office of the Provost, where he oversaw educational technology and online learning, along with leading the undergraduate, graduate, and research doctoral programs in Biola’s School of Theology, Talbot Seminary.  Beyond this, he served 8 years as Executive Director of the Society of Professors in Christian Education, an academic society for ministry professors. 

Freddy earned a Ph.D. in Leadership and completed post-doctoral studies in Educational Administration and Professorial Teaching (Ed.D., ABD) at Southern Seminary (Louisville, KY), the flagship seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention.  He completed a Master of Arts in Christian Education at Southeastern Seminary (Wake Forest, NC), and a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries at Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA), along with additional graduate studies at Southwestern Seminary (Fort Worth, TX) and additional undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). 

Concurrently with much of his academic service, Freddy has over 20 years of experience in local church pastoral ministry, including congregations ranging from hundreds to several thousands of weekly attendees.  He has traveled to dozens of countries, equipping ministers on three continents. His textbook, Christian Education (Baker Academic, 2019) is being used widely in Christian colleges and seminaries.

A Tennessee native with a Portuguese and Spanish heritage, Freddy has been married to his wife, Kristy, for over 25 years and is the father of two grown sons, Dakota and Christian.  He produces ministry-based resources available at www.freddycardoza.com.
