Eliezer Arantes da Costa brings together a distinguished professional career, academic achievement, and decades
of faithful service to the church. Trained as an electronic engineer at the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA)
and later completing both a Master’s and PhD in Electrical Engineering at the State University of Campinas
(UNICAMP), he has devoted much of his professional life to strategic planning, organizational development, and leadership.
Early in his career, Eliezer served at Vale (then Companhia Vale do Rio Doce), where he helped establish the company’s first Operations Research group focused on optimizing mining, transportation, and export systems. He later worked at Promon Engenharia, contributing to strategic planning initiatives and organizational development under internationally recognized strategic management frameworks.
Since the mid-1990s he has served as an independent consultant in strategic planning and business development, supporting organizations in the corporate, educational, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. His consulting work has included strategic planning initiatives for universities, hospitals, health organizations, and Christian institutions throughout Brazil.
Alongside his professional career, Eliezer has been deeply committed to the life and mission of the church. He served for many years as a Presbyterian elder, teacher, and mentor, contributing to the planting and strengthening of congregations and offering training in church strategic planning through theological institutions and ministry organizations. He has also served in advisory and leadership roles within Presbyterian mission initiatives and Christian institutions.
His life reflects a vocation to place strategic insight, leadership experience, and professional expertise at the service of the church, helping ministries and organizations move faithfully from “the institution we have” toward “the mission we are called to fulfill.”
